Obituary of Cécile Chénier (née Lortie)

Peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre, Cornwall on Monday, August 24, 2015 at the age of 102. Beloved wife of the late Aza Chénier. Loving mother of Michel Chénier (Pauline). Proud grandmother of Christine Chénier St-Jean (Gerry) and André Chénier (Chantalle); and great grandmother of Martin, Zachary, Emilie and Jeremy. Predeceased by her parents Xiste and Eugénie (née Gauthier) Lortie; and by her siblings Yvette (late Hector Major), Hortence (late Victorien Maher), Aurèle, Elphège (late Cécile), Benoit (late Cécile), Eloi (Lucille), Remi (Jeannine) and Jeanne-Mance (late Gerard Legault). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Family and friends are requested to gather at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm and on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 9 – 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Paroisse Sacré-Coeur on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11 am. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
