Obituary of Roderick Duncan MacLeod

MACLEOD, Roderick Duncan “R.D.” Past Master of Alexandria Masonic Lodge #439 A.F. & A.M. G.R.C. Passed away peacefully, at Cornwall Community Hospital, on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of 63 years to Clara MacLeod (née Olney). Loving father of Darrel MacLeod (Judy), Cheryl McBean (Billy) and Allan MacLeod (Joanne Roulston). Proud grandfather of Rory (Kierstian), Anna, Kayla (Kyle), Kenton (Sarah), Kieran (Jodie), Tiffany (Raki), Stacey, Tyler (Holly), Brendan, Katie, Molly and Erika; and great grandfather of Lily, Claire, Rylan, Duncan, Dominic, Adyan and Ethan. Dear brother of Eileen Dolson (late Darrel). He will be fondly remembered by his nephews, friends and neighbours. Family and friends are requested to gather at the Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 7-9 pm and on Tuesday from 9-10:30 am. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Columba Presbyterian Church, Kirk Hill on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11 am. A reception will follow in the Reception Centre of the Glengarry Funeral Home. After a long illness, the family is grateful that R.D. was given the gift of freedom this Christmas. We will miss him, and celebrate the gift of his kindness and warmth this Christmas and forever. In memory of R.D., donations to St. Columba Presbyterian Church, Glengarry Memorial Hospital or Cornwall Community Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
