Obituary of Yvonne Montreuil

Passed away peacefully at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Clifford Montreuil; her parents, Théophile and Melina (née Lalonde) Laframboise; and her brothers and sisters, Théophile Jr., Wilfred, Jimmy, Edmond, Goldie, Eugene, Oscar, William, Isabel, Arthur and Frances. Yvonne could be seen walking to the wharf in South Lancaster for a swim several times a day from early May until mid October. She was an avid gardener and loved to fish. Rarely did you go to her house without someone being there playing cards (for a buck) or having a meal. Most of all she loved being with her family. She will be greatly missed by her 4 children, Marguerite (Alfred Napper), Wilfrid (Janice née Kaye), Catherine (Brian Fisher) and Madeleine (Pat St. Pierre); her 13 grandchildren; her 22 great grandchildren; and her 1 great great grandchild. The family would like to thank the staff at Heartwood for the wonderful care given to their mother over the past few years. Also, a thank you to the CCH staff for making her final days as comfortable as possible. Rest in peace Mommy (Nanny). We love you. Family and friends are asked to gather at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Monday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Glengarry Funeral Home on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11 am, followed by a reception and then a Committal Service at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lancaster.
