Obituary of Allister MacGillivray

MACGILLIVRAY, Allister Peacefully, surrounded by family at Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 1st, 2014 at the age of 88. Loved and devoted husband and best friend of Marion MacGillivray (née McKinnon). Loving father of Audrey (Ron Westgate), Gwen (Ian Englehart), Phyllis (Kerry Labine), and Heather (Andre Houlzet). Proud grandfather of Steven Westgate (Angie), Kelly Astorino (J.P.), Corey Englehart, Jennifer Brancati (Jamie), Emily and Kyle Labine, and Rachel and Matthew Houlzet. Beloved great grandfather of Jesse and Noah Westgate, and Olivia, Lucas and Ruby Astorino. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of the late Grant (late Amanda), the late Elbert (late Mary), the late Donald Ian (late Naomi) and the late Anna MacMaster (late Johnny Gregor). Loving son of the late Duncan Archie and the late Catherine (née MacLeod) MacGillivray. His warm smile and gentle nature will be dearly missed by his extended family, the congregation of St. Columba, and his many friends and neighbours. Family and friends are requested to gather at the Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 am. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Columba Presbyterian Church, Kirk Hill on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11 am. Interment, St. Columba Cemetery.
