Suddenly at home on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in his 84th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Claire Paquette (née Lauzon). Loving father of Réjean (Martine Cardinal), Alain (Monique), Yvon (Julie Chartrand), Natalie (Gilles Bélanger) and Sylvie (Marc Nadon). Proud grandfather of Julien, Janica, Josiane, Sébastien, Marie-Pier, Samuel, Chloé, Olivier and Daphnée. Son of the late Joseph and the late Émilie (née St. Pierre) Paquette. Dear brother of Wilfrid (Lucille), Émile (late Gaétanne), Noëlla Chénier (late Aurèle), Dorina Massie (Lionel), the late Anna, the late Marina Gareau (Late Germain), Alice Dubeau (Late Lucien), Léo (Noëlla), Rolland (Late Hélène), Pauline Leroux (Claude) and Marcel (Gabrielle). Gérald will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends. Relatives and friends are requested to gather at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 7 – 9 pm and on Monday from 9:00 – 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Église Sacré-Coeur, Alexandria on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11 am. An Entombment at Cimetière Paroissial Sacré-Coeur and Reception at Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home will be held following the Mass. L’enterrement aura lieu au cimetière Paroissial Sacré-Coeur et une réception suivra au salon funéraire Glengarry.
